Mermaids

Not many Big People realise than Mermaids are able to dwell, not only in the sea, but also in fresh water. Sadly, those venturing into fresh water have such a hard time of it, avoiding the fishermen’s hooks, children and dogs playing, pollution, an amazing assortment of abandoned items and, of course, the ducks, geese and swans, that they tend to turn tail and head back for the deep seas!

Despite this, they are still fond of Big People and a small group, of two sea water and two fresh water Mermaids, have arrived at Hanley Swan recently. They can sometimes, if you are very quiet, be seen frolicking in the village pond. You would have to be there very early to see them and Geoffrey the Goose acts as their look out, so if you hear him honking, you know he’s seen you and is warning the Mermaids to hide!!

We are very pleased to tell you that all four are willing to be adopted. See them also in Available Adoptees.

I love to rub my tail on the sand.

Missy Mermaid;

The eldest sister of two sea water mermaids. She showed her sister how to find her way to a hidden lagoon, where they would play without fear of being discovered.

Do you like my hair?

Milly: of the Mermaids.

The second of the sisters. She perfected the art of leaping from the water like a dolphin at a young age and found a very useful skill when being chased!

Milly has been adopted by Vicky and her family of Malvern.

It's so cool here!

Molly Mermaid:

The eldest of the fresh water mermaid sisters. She is  prefers to sit on the beach rather than the rocks; she says it helps to exfoliate her tail.

I love to dive!

Mandy Mermaid:

 The youngest of the fresh water sisters. She enjoys hiding in the seaweed and watching the seals play; sadly, she cannot join them - they’d think that she was a fish!
