It seemed a fine day in Hanley Swan as the residents meandered to the corner shop to collect their papers and pints of milk. The strange addition to the village pond was, however, a sight to behold! Nestling up to the water lily pads was - a car!! The driver of the car, a female Big Person, had “allegedly” lost control as she came around the corner from Welland Road in the early hours of the morning. If it was a shock for the local Big People, then it was an even bigger shock for the pond’s residents! Not only the Guard Goose and the various ducks - but also, as Small Folk surveying the scene soon discovered - for the Water Lily Maiden who lived amonst the normal water lilies!!!! |
Nymphia Water-lily - the first of her kind to be found in such a well populated Big People’s village, said that she had asked one of the Canada Geese, who regularly visits the pond, to take her there for a short holiday and liked it so much she stayed! So, when the Geese left, she mingled with the other water lilies and would not have been seen if the car had not plummeted into the pond as far as it did. Since being discovered, Nymphia has spent agreat deal of time with Caira Little-maiden, who has persuaded Nymphia to be the first ever Water-Lily Maiden to be presented for Adoption. |  Nymphia Water-lily Maiden
